Kevin Lanier is a wedding photographer based in Dallas, TX, and a family friend! Two years before this project, we created his first brand identity. But as his business evolved, so did his vision. It eventually became clear he needed a brand that reflected not just where he started, but where he was headed. So this time, it wasn’t just about polishing the visuals. It was about building an entire brand experience that speaks to his ideal clients, reflects the quality of his work, and gives Kevin something he can feel proud to stand behind at every touchpoint.

The Strategy & Heart

For this new phase of business, we needed to reimagine Kevin's previous brand identity into something timeless, refined, and fresh. He wanted to break into the luxury market, targeting high-end clients without reaching for the ultra-luxury niche. 

Kevin is also a joyful person, and aims to provide a fun, safe, and unforgettable experience for his clients that not only produces beautiful images, but tells their love story in an authentic way.

So, the brand identity and website needed to appeal to his new target market, while still honoring his heart, personality, and client experience.

Creative Direction

We kept the color palette primarily neutral to allow Kevin's photos and their stories to shine. The wordmark features a minimal sans serif in all caps. It feels sleek and modern, but the addition of subtle curves incorporated into some of the letters bring in a touch of warmth and softness.

The brand mark is a K and an L woven together. This was done to convey the idea of connection and weaving a narrative together through photography and storytelling. 

For the brand fonts, we contrasted the bolder wordmark with a more welcoming and traditional serif for the main headings. We chose a modern sans serif for subheadings, (using varying weights to add interest) and an easy-to-read serif for paragraphs, similar to the fonts used in books.

Custom Website

We wanted the website's design to be primarily minimal, but with intentional features that make it one-of-a-kind.

We created an immersive experience by incorporating subtle movement, interesting scroll effects, and video elements throughout the site.

Kevin had a website done long before our first project together. It was built on Wix, and (in his words), tasted "like a stale cracker." 

We built his new site from scratch in Showit, teaming up with CopyUncorked to craft his messaging and copy. The new visuals and clear messaging laid the foundation for an intentional and aligned website that Kevin can be proud to share.

It was tailored to his brand values, showcases his portfolio with clarity and warmth, and is strategically set up for SEO, so it works just as hard behind the scenes as it does on the surface.
